Occasionally, when someone has participated in a Week of Guided Prayer, he or she may seek further spiritual direction or express a wish to become a Prayer Guide themselves.  Thornhill Centre offers a training course in Prayer Guidance when there is an expressed need for training by at least 10 people.  See our Calendar of Events or contact Thornhill Centre for information on future training courses in Prayer Guidance.

In order to be considered as a Prayer Guide a person is normally recommended by one of the Spiritual Directors or current Prayer Guides of the Diocese.  It is helpful if a person seeking to become a Guide has already a sense of the richness that Scripture offers to anyone in their prayer.  Normally, a period of discernment follows the experience of the training.  This is a mutual process where the potential Prayer Guide and those directing the training programme co-discern the appropriateness of the individual to this ministry.
